Metro K9 Academy is a family-owned dog training and breeding facility located on four acres in Randolph, New Jersey. For more than 30 years, we’ve helped families, handlers, and agencies across NJ and the Tri-State area build reliable companions, confident working dogs, and clear-headed protection dogs they can trust in real life – not just in a training field.
Who We Are
Metro K9 Academy specializes in German Shepherds and Dobermans from health-tested, purpose-bred lines. Our team lives and works on-site, which means your dog is trained and cared for in a structured, supervised environment every day. Whether you’re looking for basic obedience, a trained family dog, or a personal protection dog, you’ll work directly with a trainer who understands both the dog in front of them and the lifestyle you’re bringing that dog home to.
What We Do
We offer a full range of NJ dog training programs, including:
- Group obedience classes for puppies and adult dogs
- Private lessons for focused, one-on-one work
- Board and train programs for busy owners
- Family personal protection training
- Schutzhund/IGP and police dog foundations
- AKC CGC and S.T.A.R. Puppy prep

In addition to training, we place German Shepherd and Doberman puppies, started juveniles, and fully trained protection dogs. Each dog is matched to the right home based on temperament, drive, and your goals—not just appearance or paperwork.
